Krabi, Thailand (15 June to 18 June 2016)

Krabi has always been amazing. But little did I expect/ research about the fact of the bad weather conditions in Krabi.

Day 1, 15 June 2016
Our flight was at 10.10am, so after a short 2 hours flight, we arrived in Krabi. When we arrived, we went on this little truck. Not a car. Sat at the back in the open air with mum and sis while dad sat in front at the aircon area.

We arrived 2 hours before the check in time to the Capuchin Hotel. and we were supposed to go hike up the Tub Kaek Nature Trail. Hence we open up our luggages in the cafe area where we are suppose to check in and change and went for a meal that wasn't satisfying at all. Meals are cooked slowly in Krabi, so being Singaporeans and used to the fast pace environment, we weren't used to waiting for 20 min for our meals.

Upon reaching Tub Kaek, here the challenge starts. Never had any of us hike up anything this steep before. It is easy at the start, but gradually, it gets really challenging. REALLY CHALLENGING. Dad had quite a tough time trying to hike up. We stopped in the end due on the bad weather and didn't reach the peak that I want to. The view from pictures was so amazing, yet I couldn't see it with my own eyes. I will be back the next time again to hike up!

That very night, after we arrived back in the hotel and washed up, everyone was so tired to do anything. But hunger drove me out of the hotel and we went out for an awesome meal at May&Zin ( just 10min walk out from the hotel.) It's quite hawker-like, with individual stores at the side and tables where you can choose to sit randomly at. (Similar though, quite a long wait for food, but also because there was plenty of customers they were serving).

There is this thing in Krabi that I realise though, they like to cook all the food that customer A ordered before they look into the next order from another customer. So, really do have to wait for quite a bit.

Day 2, 16 June 2016
White water rafting. I booked this from Krabitrek, and they came to pick us up and sent us to the location. the driver though, was very reckless in driving. The way he drive in the rain was pretty scary.

But the water rafting was really fun. So fun that I almost flew out of the raft. The people maneuvering the raft are so thin, but so strong. They can handle the raft so easily like it wasn't any issue. Unlike the many other tourists that were trying and had a hard time.

The drive to the place for the raft and back was quite a long time though. We spend almost 1.5hours driving there and about 2 hours back.

Then the night, everyone like the food at May&Zin so much that we headed back there again for more dishes.

Day 3, 17 June 2016
Out to the sea we go. The intial tour that I have booked, Krabi Sunset Cruise cancelled due to the bad weather, so we had to look for another tour that would be willing to take us out in the sea. So we decided to book the 7 islands sunset tour at 1000baht per person  from this Swiss Chalet that was located 2 min away from the hotel and the driver that was supposed to pick us up was late for 30min. We had to wait and have no way to contact them till they arrived.

When we arrived at the area where we were dropped off, the woman had some attitude collecting the national park fee from us. they collected 400 baht each from us , but only 40 baht from the thai locals. Shows how much difference they treat their people and us. We tried arguing but to no avail.

The weather was quite bad on this day. The sun was not out and we can't see the clear water much. It was all murky and sandy. Was quite a disappointment. Although the crew on board did try to make everyone's day by surprising us with the bioluminiscent plankton. Very few but they pour it into the boat and turn off all the lights. It was really pretty though. If only the weather was good and we can see it on the shores. Bet t will be nicer than before.

The rain was on and off the whole time and to accompany, the dinner wasn't any great either. Buffet didn't felt like one. Was overall quite disappointed.

Day 4, 18 June 2016
We had a morning flight and had our last awesome breakfast in the hotel before heading back to the airport by the new car we booked from Swiss Chalet at 550 Baht. Was so much more comfy and we arrived at the airport, and took Thai airways to Bangkok. Flight got delayed for about 30-45min but all is good until we arrived in Bangkok.

Will type more and post up pictures when I can.

Till then. :D
